Router & ONT Compatibility FAQ

How do I check if my router or ONT is compatible?
Look at the label on the back or underside of your device. Find the line that says Input or DC In — if it shows 9V or 12V, this Mini UPS is compatible. Most South African ISP-supplied routers and Fibre ONT boxes run on 9V or 12V DC.

What DC connector do I need?
The unit ships with multiple DC tip adapters. Match the barrel connector size printed on your device's power adapter (commonly 5.5mm × 2.5mm or 5.5mm × 2.1mm). Try each included tip until you find a snug, secure fit.

Can I run my router and ONT at the same time?
Yes — the included DC splitter cable lets you power both devices simultaneously from a single output port, provided their combined voltage matches the selected output (9V or 12V). Check that both devices share the same voltage requirement before using the splitter.

What's in the box — do I need to buy any cables separately?
The package includes the Mini UPS unit, a power adapter (for charging the UPS), a DC splitter cable, and a set of DC tip adapters. For most router + ONT setups, no additional cables are required.

How long will the battery last on a single charge?
Runtime depends on the combined power draw of your connected devices. Lower-wattage devices will run closer to the upper end of the rated range; higher-wattage devices will deplete the battery faster. We recommend testing with your specific setup to determine actual runtime for your devices.
